Prayer Shawl Ministry
"Shawls ... made for centuries universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles’

Members of the parish meet the first Wednesday of each month at the parsonage to crochet or knit prayer shawls. Being able to crochet or knit is not a requirement; if you are interested in learning, come and someone will show you how to get started on this project. All are invited to join and share with this group.
While making the shawls, prayers are said for the recipients. The finished shawls are given to individuals who are ill, lonely, in pain or suffering, or who need a special comforting hug. A prayer is said before starting each shawl, and again at the time the shawl is given.
